Touch Screen & Fingerprint Reader dead after upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 on tx1320us

I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my tx1320us because I was excited about the new Touch features and was sick of the slowness of Vista.  The upgrade method of installing went just fine and transferred all my files and settings but I have lost all touchscreen ability (Windows 7 under system properties says I do not have a touch enabled display) and I have lost the use of my fingerprint reader.

I am aware that HP has yet to release the drivers to make my system compatible with Windows 7 but is there any work around to get both of these essential features back or should I go back to Vista?

Please Help!

Re: Touch Screen & Fingerprint Reader dead after upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 on tx1320us

I had same problem with my tx1220 since HP provides no support for win7 on these series. I found out, however,  windows update does a good job getting drivers after a clean install. It updated my chipset, video, audio, modem and even finger reader drivers. I also found I can use some win7 drivers and software from those posted by HP for the tx2-1020, maybe the closest match for these earlier laps. I almost have all features working properly and much better than in Vista. My thouch screen is now harder to use thoug, because now I need a pen o my finger nail to do things. No response from a direct finger pressure anymore, but I can live with that. I also lose dvd and webcam quick launch buttons. But webcam works fine and HP media smart software from the tx2-1020

works great

Hope this helps.

Well, my touchscreen is still working, but I've made all efforts to get fingerprint reader and HP Media Smart working, but no success... I've installed drivers from HP and from the manufacturer, etc, but it says the reader was not detected. And now, what do we do?

Re: Touch Screen & Fingerprint Reader dead after upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 on tx1320us

Can you list the drivers you've installed for Digital Persona Personal?

I use:  sp43883 and sp45355 and Digital Persona Personal Update 4.11 for Firefox.

Have you tried those?
