Upgrade RAM

I have a HP Touchsmart tm2 1100. Win 7 64 bit with 8 Gb RAM.  I'm having problems going to 16 Gb RAM.

Please Advise.....

Hi:

 

That might be due to the specs listed in the service manual that only list support for up to 8 GB of memory.

 

Please see chapter 1, page 1.

I've been looking for away around the 8GB limit.  Why is there a limit?  Couldn't HP put out an updated BIOS to allow support for more RAM? HP just wants you to throw it away and buy a new one, that how the support for their products seem.

 

Oh well 8 will have to do until the new Slates from ASUS or Samsung comes out.
