hp pavilion tx2000 windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

[ Edited ]

My school just got the windows 7 ultimate cds form Microsoft and I installed on my hp pavilion tx2000. Everything is great except for the issue where sometimes my mouse pointer would start to move to the bottom of the screen, especially in the rightbottom corner and click on its own, causing windows to pop up from my taskbar? How can I fix this? I checked my Device Manager and I have no errors and I have downloaded and installed EVERYTHING form Windows Update with the exception of the foreign languages that are offered via Windows Update. Any advice would help? Thanks.

Oh yeah forgot to mention. I used to have Vista ultimate and it did the same problem but I just thought it was a Vista Combatibility issue. I assumed Windows 7 would fix it. So I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate on my tablet but the problem continued to persist.

I have the same problem with Vista, my friend has the same too - I thing that this is a bug from HP you are the third person with the same problem.

I resolve it after I switch off the touch screen drivers and pen drivers.

Thanks for the response. Do you mind telling me how to switch off the touch screen drivers and pen drivers? Is it basically just disabling the drivers from the device manager? But if I disable it, would that mean I can use my laptop as a tablet to use the pen?

The best I could say is make sure your hardware drivers are downloaded from HP's website.

Here's another thread about this issue. I've been through two OS's as well with the same problem in each. All drivers updated, etc.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/TX-series-notebooks/Mouse-Jumping-to-corner-on-its-own-TX2000-tablet-PC...

Re: hp pavilion tx2000 windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

I had the same issue. I however realized that it just started to happen after a while so I suspected an overheating issue. I searched the web but couldn't find anything. I just had to switch the touchpad off and use an external mouse.

Then some 2 weeks later my network adapter failed and the system director within the control panel didn't even find the wireless adapter anymore.

I took my tx2120us to a service center and they immediately told me about an overheating issue that affects some type of HP notebooks. If left untreated it would ultimately lead to total motherboard failure.

I got my notebook fixed for some 200 bucks and since then the mouse issue is gone.

Re: hp pavilion tx2000 windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

i have the same problem but i gotta it fixed by installing tune-up utilities 2010 and performed all the tune ups in all aspects..then installing Auslogics BoostSpeed 4.1 and performed one-button check-up except only for the registry clean-up..uncheck it..after that disk cleaner and disk defrag..note: in a certain point in disk defragging my laptop shuts down automatically but i just repeat the defragging when it boots up again..i think that was a couple of times..but after repeating it all over and over again..it will came to a point that it will be completed. i also installed kaspersky internet security 2011 and performed full computer and critical scan..same thing happened but i always start it all over again..after completing all of that i also installed all the important and optional updates of windows...after that my trackpad works well!!!

but i still have an issue, the stylus pen of tx2000 just keeps on dragging in itself without clicking it but if i use the pen of my tx1000 it works perfectly also the touch using fingertips is perfectly fine..i just calibrated it in all screen orientation..
