installing Intel X25-M SSD in my TX2513cl changing to XP Pro produces a Blue Screen

Has anyone tried this combination yet?

HP tx2513cl

Intel X25-M (brand new)

XP Pro

First, I have updated the laptop BIOS to the latest, May 2009 version F.0C

Next, while installing XP Pro, I get a blue screen with "stop: 0x0000007B".  My Google research points me to one article:  http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-2000-xp/560773-blue-screen-stop-0x0000007b-help.html

Therefore it looks like the HP isn't talking to the Intel drive.

Any suggestions???

Thanx!!!

You may need new driver, SSD are newer than XP

Does the X25-M SSD come with XP drivers? If no, maybe check Intel's website and make sure XP is supported, and download the driver and instruction for install.

Interesting hard disk replacement.

Do X24-M use ordinary sata connection as on regular hard disk?

If it does, try to slipstream AMD sata driver using Nlite, download Nlite, learn how to use it.

Nlite download:
http://www.nliteos.com

A good guide to slipstream sata driver (the guide only shows ICH8 sata driver not AMD sata driver), your sata driver is given below.

http://maxeasyguide.blogspot.com/2008/04/preparations-for-winxp-installation-cd.html

AMD SATA AHCI Controller Driver

Here:

Important Notes:

  1. In Nlite, choose the option of insert -> multiple driver folder
  2. Select ONLY x86 driver for AMD SATA AHCI when asked.
  3. Never choose x64 driver when asked

Re: installing Intel X25-M SSD in my TX2513cl changing to XP Pro produces a Blue Screen

Thanx for the help so far.

1.)  I started on HP's site, no XP driver help.

2.)  I then went to Intel's site and only found a BIOS update for the X25-M.   I tried to flash the BIOS on my Intel SSD using Intel's flash utility.  Fortunately, it said it already had the latest version of the BIOS.

3.)  I am currently in the process of trying the slipstreaming of an AMD driver using nLite (Slick utility BTW).

I will keep this thread posted on my progress!

UPDATE:  Slipstreaming the AMD SATA AHCI Controller Driver into the XP Pro installation disk using nLite worked!!

Thanx again for ALL of your help!!  I'm now looking forward to the speed and economy of the Intel X25-M SSD on my HP pavilion tx2500cl.
