I  agree ...HP   sucks

My  keyboard  went  out....they  said  I  got  it wet...not covered and  wanted over $600.

Said  they  had  pics  to  prove  it...never  saw  pics.

Hot  $15  keyboard  on  net  and   friend  installed  in  8  mins.

It has  worked  perfect   for  2  yrs now.

 Will NEVER NEVER NEVER  trust HP  again

There is no one solution for a one-blink code. It is a generic CPU error code which could indicate any number of failures in the hardware. Generally I've seen people who think it's related to heat, but you could help narrow down the source of the problem on your machine by listing the circumstances of use which surround the error.

In other words, what were you doing when the machine stopped working?

Was it following a system crash, or a regular shutdown?
Was the machine hot, or was it from cold boot?
Was there any physical damage to the machine?
Had you received any errors while using the computer prior to the event?
What operating system are you using?

The touchsmart laptop series has been plagued by hardware failures all throughout its history. If you check the laptop section of HP shopping, you will find that HP has abandoned the line entirely. It is hard to interpret this action as anything besides an admission of failure on their part.

I have the same problem. Do not rely on the codes to tell you what the problem is. I did and it was a very expensive mistake. I order the part that it said was wrong and it did not fix the problem. Cheaper to buy a new PC. The quality for this PC does not match the price I paid. Service from HP is expensive and the agents are not very helpful after the warranty expires.

thank you for this tip ... it worked shortly ... sadly it kept happeneing and i ept doing wat this post said ... sadly it now refuses to let the screen pop up again .. even when i do follow these instructions please reply
