Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I am still awiting a resolution from the Better Business Bureau concerning the HP tx1000 series laptops. The latest response from the HP Escalations Department includes the following:

<quote>In regards as mentioned before about our tx1000 Series model notebooks I have provided your case to our Engineers for review who are constantly testing all of our products. Like some of our products if they notice a product that may have a high failure rate when compared to the amount of products that have been manufactured and out in the market they do take proactive measures in attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I am not in their Engineering Department to comment in detail what and how tests are conducted but they are aware of your concerns as well as other customers who may have the same concerns. If I receive any information from our Engineering Department I will definitely provide you that information about this issue. Customers who have issues with their notebooks are currently dealt with and resolved on a case by case basis when they contact HP for assistance.</quote>

That is not an acceptable response from HP. They have a known issue on their hands and are simply telling each and everyone there is no resolution for the issue other than replacing the motherboard for $450. I will continue to battle with HP on this matter and will hopefully have the conitued support of CTV News and the BBB. I'm sure that they will eventually be persuaded to do the right thing for their consumers.

[ Edited ]

Hi there

I am having this exact issue with my tablet and would like to give HP a piece of my mind, but in the end I know they will do nothing.  I can not find a way to get your contact info to get your name and case #.  If you could somehow contact me with this info that would be great.  Although this will probably be blanked, I will try to give you my email, it is <text removed for privacy>

Thank you in advance,

Cindy

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

Just asked the wife about her receipt.  I forgot she bought it straight from HP online and she has the receipt.  What is the process I have to go through for a reimbursement?  Do I have to send this laptop to HP directly?  Will they still reimburse me even though I've repaired it myself twice?

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

ok.. i have the over heat problem with my TX2 1025DX as well. As my best understanding, the overheated part was not the CPU but the 3200 video chips. The heat pipe HP put in those notebook isnt powerful enough to cover both CPU and HD3200 chips. I am using Win7, and i think win 7 does better power management compare to vista, hence, i didnt suffer a lot on over heat unless i was super bored and play wow on my laptop. if u know how to open ur laptop.. apply a better thermal paste helps a little. Maybe i should beg those applied design student and see if they can cast a pure copper for me :smileytongue:

Btw, does anyone know if TX2 support  M640? Kind of wanna upgrade my cpu...

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I bought mine through hp online with my hp credit card also. In fact since my computer was used for my work (I am self employed) I am still paying on it.  I expected to pay it off early but because of it breaking down my payments have been small but on time and at least the amount due. Of course that means the interest rates have been outrageous.
