Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

We must be wasting our time on this forum. I just spoke to a case manager who said he was not aware of problems with the tx1000 models having problems. I asked if he ever viewed these forums!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

at the present moment my case has been escalated.

The case #750.... that is in this forum, i have been told by the tech support people is not valid.  they only give out #'s starrting with 803, or 802.

Can i ask what department gave you that #?

I am trying to contact CTV so i have something to support my claim.

Thanks for your help so far.  HP needs to own up to these faulty laptops.

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

As a tx owner in the UK with the usual problems, I have now had to resort to taking legal advice, the first step being to inform HP that I want them to take action within the next 14 days to sort the problem. Predictably, I have had absolutely no response to date and doubt that I will. My next action will be to make a claim for a full refund or replacement (????) through the Small Claims Court. Watch this space. If any one else has any UK experience of actions that worked I would be grateful to know.

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

Like a lot of people on here I have had the problems previously mentioned.  The first was the wifi card and now the last few days it would take the 2nd or 3rd switch on to start up, last night i was on battery power and it ran out so after plugging it in  i tried to switch it on  flashing twinkly lights fan humming but nothing on the screen so i googled it and found you guys.  I will give the hairdryer a go tonight if only to dump stuff onto my external HDD and then start saving for a replacement non HP.  In the meantime i have contacted the consumer magazine Which and the BBC's Watchdog programme

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I have the TX2 series and its slowly dieing on me, conviently *right after* the 1yr warranty period.

The stylus/touchscreen stopped working excetera.  The screen blacks out with a flashing underscore- it goes on.

Contacted HP and they told me to mail it in for service.  Of course its not free, I have to pay :smileymad:

Its just a month over a year old; something costing this much shouldn't fail/need repairs for the next 4-6 years!

I'm planning on selling this laptop for parts and switching to another brand.

HP has let me down.  Their older laptops were FAR more reliable than this and did last longer than just ONE year.
