Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

i have exactly the same problem with this tx1000 series notebook which i bought in 2007 and warranty has expired in 2008.  I sent it back to HP several times during the warranty period and repaired and/or replaced parts of it.  It worked for a couple of months and now the same problem occurred.  How can i get them to replace this with a different model that does not have this design fault, now that its way out of warranty.  Kindly assist.

I don't have a clue. All I know is my daughter still have a computer that don't work. My husband is out of a lap top because he lend his Apple laptop to my daughter who is in school Miles away from her. Maybe what we need to do is consult the BBB about what we need to do, to get these issues result.

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I have a tx1000 that the wifi card just disappeared - poof - no more.  Did all the standard fixes - reloaded windows - replaced card - updated driver (why when the card wasn't being seen who knows but I did)  and on.....and on....and on!!!

Well I just spoke with HP tech guy - floor supervisor - and all are denying that there is a problem with the hp tx1000.  This just isn't right.  We spend hundreds of dollars on these computers only for them to be sold to us with a known problem and then slap us in the face when it breaks by charging us for the repairs.  Wow what a company.- I just want to run out and buy another one plus recommend them to my friends and family -NOT!!!! and to think I used to like HP's over other computers.

sorry for the rant had to get it out....

Please let me know if there are any new developments in this.....

thanks.....

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I can feel for you. After reading this thread, and that the problem has been broadcast on CTV, I sent my computer in for repair. HP was kind enough to fix it out of warranty, because they realize there are issues. I did not have my computer going for more than a week, when I was hit with a black screen and no wireless. Also, the "new" power supply didn't work either. I was sent another box to return it for repair, and I sent it out. That was April 30, 2010. Apparantly HP doesn't know where my tablet pc is! So now, now only DID I have a broken computer...now I have a missing computer. I don't know what to think..do I blame it on the usual lousy courier service, or do I assume HP is hiding something?

Wow, I thought I was the only one with this overheating problem. A year ago, my wifi died, but luckly it was under warranty and HP replaced the wifi card, but this overheating and shutting down persists especially when watching video and using USB ports. Lets hope they recall this.

What was even more upsetting was, that as a replacement, I DIDN't get a tablet pc (new or otherwise), but a regular one worth a lot less than what was sent in (better specs, no touch screen). This would be OK, except I already have 3 like the replacement, and would have expected another touch tablet, at the very least. Thanks HP!

[ Edited ]

[text removed] Mine has been dead for almost a year now and I'm not about to put a single penny into it only to have it die again!! HP knows this is a defective product and trying to play ignorant about it, just like Torota did with the runaway vehicles issue. You see what happened to them! Better wake up and smell the overheated motherboards HP!! You could be the next big headlines like Torota and Apple iphoney4
