Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

Hello Wendy,

 Did you get any more action from HP? My daughter is still having same problem. I see that there is a lawsuit going on, it was started in May/09, I brought my daughters laptop in 2007, with 2yrs warranty and a month after the warranty ran out she started having the problems. It looks like there are a lot of complaints, why won't HP do something about it? I feel bad because I brought 4 laptops at the same time for Christmas gifts so I spend a fortune that year, and what do I have for all that Headaches.

Is the lawsuit in the US and how do we know if our name is on the list to be part of the complainants in the lawsuit?  Where do I look up the lawsuit?

I also have the blank screen/laptop won't boot problem with my tx1340ea. It's out of warranty (they already replaced the laptop once within warranty), but the replacement motherboard has clearly also gone now. I'm in the UK, anyone have any luck getting a refund or part refund out of warranty?

I'll update if anything happens...

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

Hi

My girlfriend has hp's touchsmart tx2 - 1010 ea. Warranty has expired 3 months ago. 2 months ago one of the ram socket died [ I suppose it was ram socket, I've checked many combinations, and it seems to be dead ]. Yeasterday laptop froze during normal work [ no graphic, no gaming etc ]. After reboot it didn't wake up. It acts in the same way as during first failure;

black screen, working fan, and two leds blinking [ one on the left side of keyboard and one on the top of keayboard ] I tried this heat solution, but nothing works. Any ideas? New mainboard costs fortune :/.

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

Good afternoon!

I am researching an issue my daughter is having with her HP Tablet.  I have been told it was part of a recall which was never published.  It is now out of warranty, and will not function (bad wireless card).  She used her high school graduation money to purchase the tablet, and it now useless.  I would appreciate having the case # and any other info you may have which might help me remedy the situation for her.

Thanks!

I agree that we need some more info regarding any investigation in to this issue.  Anybody got any updates or can tell us where to check?  TIA

Re: tx1000 Series Laptop Failure - PLEASE READ

I bought my tx 1327cl on november 2007, it had worked fine until two days ago when it suddenly  went off, showing exactly the same symptoms as described in this forum, and many others forums on the web.  It seem a general problem that HP just seems to be ignoring.  As many of you, it is out warranty and my husband's, which is the same tablet, is showing signs of the problem.  Worst of all,  we bought them at SAMS in USA and we are now in Colombia.  If anybody knows how I can get HP to respond for this failure, please let me know.
