tx2000 usb ports, digitizer, webcam all not working

Time to bump this up to page 1 again.

There are now 5 of us who have this major problem.  Surely someone has some suggestions that we can try.

In my case, it seemed to occur after a failed hardware install.  Unfortunately, there was no system restore present (occured shortly after a total hardware rebuild by Staples on a two year extended warrantee). 

I can't find the discs to completely rebuild of the firmware/software/operating system.  Is there some way that I "rebuild" my operating system without the discs?

Same problems, but my usb ports are working, this occuring after replacing the motherboard and installing windows 7 64bit on it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appericated

Same problem here. I don't quite understand why all these failures at same time?

Also bluetooth is missing on my laptop. TX1250eo.

Is there some chip failure or what?

Guys, have you tried a clean install of Windows 7? Not recovery/system restore stuff.

Fashion, I am sorry that I missed your post.  I only come back once in a while, as there does not seem to be much hope in getting an answer.

My system is still the Vista operating system.  Folks who have tried to update seem to have issues based on other threads.

This reply will bump it from page 3 back to page one.  I keep hoping that someone will find a solution for this problem that several of us have.  In my mind, it is not the same as the black screeen issue.

Update. 

I bit the bullet and did a complete system re-install.  Had nothing to loose.  Had gotten my data off the hard drive, so the fresh system install that wipes the disc was no problem.

I then loaded most of the drivers from HP.com.

Still do not have access to the things listed in the subject.

I guess I am now pretty convinced that this is a hardware issue. 

Would still like to have any input that folks can offer.

I believe it too. This must be a hardware issue. Some chip/chips must have infected by heat or then this is just bad quality series of laptops. I tried even magnifying glass to see some bad sodering but came out with nothing.

I am sure they do know the real problem in HP but they won't share it here.

Kuvotus, really hard to believe that it is hardware related, as the motherboard has only a very few hours on it (less than 10 when it went bad).  I had purchased the unit at Staples and for some reason bought the extended waranntee. 

The unit does not have any of the other symptoms of the other heat related problems.  It seemed to happen after I tried to install a printer.  There was no restore point.

I have tried all the software options that I know of, so that points to a hardware issue - just hard to believe.

I just reinstalled Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit on my tx2000 and have been updating drivers and trying to get everything working. It seems like the last things not working are the digitizer and capacitive touch screen which were working before the reinstall.

I use the Vista 64-bit drivers and if some of the components on the screen bezel (fingerprint reader, quick launch) don't work I try newer txXXXX series like the tx2500 Windows 7 drivers since those components in the screen housing are pretty much the same. However, I can only find the digitizer driver under the tx2000 series and after installing/rebooting/etc. it tells me that there is no tablet device connected.

A similar thing happened when I was trying to get the fingerprint reader to work. I installed the driver from HP, it was showing up in the device manager, but the fingerprint management software said there is no fingerprint device connected. I ran the update driver option for the fingerprint reader in the device manager and it found and installed a new driver, after which, it worked. So I've tried the same thing with the HID devices and there are no new drivers.

I'm pretty sure there is some issue with the driver that HP has on their site. I'm gonna see if I still have the old driver install file from the last back up I made before I reinstalled Windows.
