Hello ironmaster and welcome to the forum,

Usually, an error representing a combination of letters and digits means that the hard drive has probably failed. Is the laptop menu giving you the option to repair or diagnostic? If not, well, I think the time for hard drive replacement has come. You should be looking for a drive which is compatible with your model of laptop. Check the user guide for further information but mostly, you might need a drive with following specifications:

1. 5400 RPM

2. SATA II or SATA III connector

3. 2.5 inch form factor

If you feel inconfident how to proceed, my advice is to contact a PC company to the tests.

Cheers.
