Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

I highly doubt anyone is using my computer to DJ/VJ or KJ or anything else other than what IT allows around my place.  However if you tell us exactly what computer model you are talking about, maybe you'll find someone who is.

Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

It doesnt matter what all-in-one TouchSmart one would use to DJ with. Before I buy one or a particular modal I would like to find out if any of these models can handle the need to run Music Video or Karaoke. NVIDIA card in the laptops have bugs that still after a year arnt being addressed.

If the video cards in these units cant handle the stress of running music videos on a separate TV then it's not worth buying.

Thanks

not sure about DJing with it, but the specs seem like they should do the trick:

Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

before you decide to purchase make sure the sound card is good enough - my other post in this forum regarding sound sampling format is a concern to me and I'm hoping that someone from HP is listening and gets the driver to produce at least what is specified for the sound card, including its surround capabilities - at the moment it only produces 48Khz, it should be able to do 24 bit, 192Khz, 6.1 surround....

Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

Thanks guys, no offence but if you don't dj with a computer you wouldnt understand. It's about the video card. the strain of running music Videos and all the video effects can take any purely built computer to it knees and you end up with a club full of people looking at the dj say what a looser dj. If the computer cant do the job then I'll just stick to my laptop.  That's all, nothing more. sound card is secondary and most onboard card ar sufficient these days

[ Edited ]
well yeah, i don't dj, i use it to typically watch videos and play music with a high end reciever attached.  The Vista performance guage on my iq508 has the graphics card with windows aero 3.8 and graphics gaming set to 4.8 which would be better than most laptops i'd say...
so what software do you use for the visual effects?
i like to use soundspectrum's whitecap in full screen - comes up with some crazy visual effects and can be directed to large plasma or lcd tv screen or projector...
whitecap plugs in to WMP, Media Center (although not for Media Center on 64bit platform) and has a standalone interface in which you can speak into a mic and it will conga, jitter and shimmy to your voice, its pretty cool!
Check it out, there is a trail version,..

Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

oh yeah, i forgot to mention - if you do choose to go with iq8xx or iq5xx make sure your software that you use for the visuals will install and run on windows vista 64 OS, this is what is pre-installed on these units...

Re: DJ's, VJ's and KJ's

have u tried http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9300m_gs_us.html  there doesn't appear to be much of a break down as i would have expected, but might be a good starting point for ya - might also be worth checking with your sales consultant on that one,..
