Does anyone know the actual weight of the iq500?

OK - I just received my VESA Adapter kit for my iq508a,  (pictured below - more info from http://www.iversal.com/ ) looks very solid, sturdy and neat but haven't installed it as yet, I need to buy now a Desk Stand for it - I've got my eye on a couple desk stands at the moment but need to know the approx weight of the iq508a.

I searched through the specification sheet where these sorts of data items usually are found but don't see anything relating to the weight.

I tried my home scales but they are designed for feet and not something that is flat and doesn't register any weight.

So does anyone know if the iq500's are anywhere near 10Kg in weight?  Does anyone know the exact weight give or take .5 kilo?

Re: Does anyone know the actual weight of the iq500?

There is a very easy way to get the exact weight of your IQ500.

Simply hold it whilst you stand on your scales.

Then re-weigh yourself and subtract the higher from the lower.

Hope this helps.

Re: Does anyone know the actual weight of the iq500?

Perhaps I was not as clear as I thought I was.

Assemble the brackets and holder assembly to the TouchSmart and then weigh it using the above method.

The total weight at the wall is also very important.

Remember, gravity will not take a nap.

Make sure that the wall stud is strong enough.

Hope this helps.

Pete

Thanks for the kudo.

Re: Does anyone know the actual weight of the iq500?

thanks once again...

i ended up buying a desk arm. its heavy duty, spec'ed for 13"-30" LCD and can carry max of 15Kg monitor.  it has a heavy duty clamp that locks onto the side of the desk.  thats why i wanted to know how heavy the iq500 is so that i don't buy something that is under the correct weight of the monitor.

Re: Does anyone know the actual weight of the iq500?

furthermore, if worse comes to worst, the arm is height adjustable so i can adjust the height so that the feet on the iq500 can distribute the weight over the desktop as well while i tilt the monitor forward without having to worry about it toppling over.
