When I log on to facebook using HP magic canvas. I get an error that says
"Retrieve User's Notifications...." "You do not have permissions to do this. Change your account permissions settings and try again."
I have reviewed my facebook settings and the browser settings and my firewall settings. They all seem to be correct. Can someone help?

Hello Tactup
First of all HP does not support 3rd party software. I know this worked for Netflex going through HP Touchsmart software. Try resinking your clock change it to governments time zone. Most likely your out of sink. with the computer. Even tough your internet explorer still works. If you do not know how to change the clock then repost. I will return here some time to night and see if you need a walk through. 3-30 7:00 a.m.

The facebook app came with the HP Magic Canvas preloaded on this computer when I bought it a few days ago. So one might think that they would have worked out the bugs or show a toturial on how to set it up correctly. But anyway I tried all of the different internet time zones available with no success. Thanks for trying though![]()

Hello Tactup:
Bomber. No Hp Caves is Hp software but 3rd party is in this case Face Book is attachment . You have Touchsmart 4 version software. So I do not know how you get into properties in cavas folder. Mine you goto HP Touchsmart in all programs list. Left click it list drop select properties than click on security tab, Next window highlight by clicking on system Be low that click on edit check mark in next window list allow in all boxes except leave this one blank Special Permission. Nothing is checked marked in the two boxes. See if this corrects your issue. If not then open up recovery manger select recovery of drivers and software and reinstall HP Toushsmart this well reinstall the software that contains magic windows. Your original may have become corrupted by updates or insulation. Your computer also come with one year warranty so contact HP direct support and they can help you reinstall Magic Canvas. Good luck.

I was having the same problem. Got on-line with the tech at HP and did some unnecessary stuff. Went back and got a different person and it turned out that my having the "Secure Browsing" enabled on my FB page was the problem. I had to go to FB and sign in - go to my Account Settings - Security Settings and Disable Secure Browsing. This solved the problem.
I still get the notice, but it comes up as it is signing into my account strangely enough. So, I just close it and the Magic Canvas has open the little summary page it provides. Which I think is very cool. It won't allow me to keep my password in the Magic Canvas icon which is a bit annoying, but I can live with it until they up date it.
I hope this helps you.
