HELP - Hp touchsmart webcam not running

I am on windows 7 and a hp touchsmart 520 pc and I had no problem running the hp touchsmart webcam app before but lately it has not been loading up I double click it and it shows that its loading with the circle blue indicator you get on windows 7 then nothing else happens? i need a solution thanks

Hello Ylooney:

           Welcome to HP's forum.  Please goto your all program search box and type in Recovery Manger when it is listed above select it and open it up. Then select Software Program Reinstallation click next . When the list window open go down the list and select HP Touchsmart Webcam then click next. Follow the commands that are given. Now ounce it has been reinstalled and computer has been rebooted. Then check and see if your web-cam will open. What you did just now was fixed corrupted files.

         If it did not open then you know it is a hardware issue and now you can call HP Direct Support and tell them did that did that also. To safe time and the waste of time they put you through reinstalling HP Touchsmart Webcam software over and over again. This becomes fustrating and useless time wasted. We already know the webcam needs replacing because you already fix the software issues it may have had. Make them write up a work order for it. Please check your warranty status remember it came with a one year warranty so it might be covered. It takes about seven day turn arround for HP to fix it.           You can find the right one as well on your computers update page. Just click solve a problem on the right side and next page click on webcam listed. Please click on Kudos if this resolves your issue. Thank you frrw. Good luck.

This doesn't work either now it just seems to come onto the magic a black screen which just says magic canvas then exits itself down and sometimes magic canvas does not even come up.

Please restall all HP touchsmart software using recovery mannager. One by one. Evidently it is corrupted and run a malware scan as well. frrw

hey basically i found out its the hp magic canvas so i was going to uninstall it and its not in the uninstall list and i was thinking maybe it goes away and i accidentally uninstalled it but i hadn't so it wasn't in my recovery manager either its gone from my PC do you know how i could get it back?
