HP Touch Smart 520PC Wireless Keyboard (KG-0981) Adding additional letters while typing. Please Help

Hello, Thank You for reading.....

My HP TS 520 PC runs Win 7, Its wireless keyboard KG-0981 started acting up last night.....or I should say early this morning around 3-5am.   While entering Ebay into the address bar using  (Chrome21.0.1180.75) when I typed Ebay it came out E5gbay.  I tried erasing it and entering it again....but everytime I hit the B button, it would enter 5gb.  Heres the other letter that won't work. Or this is what I get when I type each of the following letters.

G=5gb

H=6hn

B=5gb

N=6hn

I ran norton and it said I had a corrupt file and removed it., that didn't fix it.  So I went to download Norton's Deep Eraser but the computer wouldn't let me go past where you choose to save the file to.  Then if I hit the space bar or went to delete the characters it would take me back a page. or reload the screen. I finally thought of using the touch screen.  The touch screen works no problem. As long as I use the mouse.

I ran Nortons Deep Eraser and it came up with a bad file, thought that it might be fixed and after a restart, still no good.  I shut down and restarted a bunch of times. Cause Im also having a problem with getting locked out of the computer trying to get it out of sleep mode.  

If I move the mouse the login screen will pop up, sometimes it'll let me enter in my password but when I hit enter or click the right arrow nothing happens......it just freezes making me hold down the power button until it shuts off, then I turn it bck on. 

I tried starting in Safe Mode but the keyboard still fails. Even in Set Up or system config the arrow keys wouldn't work I had to use the numerical 8462 to move oround options. Even the Esc key didn't work, luckyly the F 1-11 worked, but I didn't save anychanges and started back up in safe mode.  Ran Diagnostics and everything passed. 

Hope this is enough inofrmation . If you need anything else I'll be happy to provide. Im using my laptop to type this now....lol

Just a thought, try using the device and its dongle on a different PC see what it does.

        Sorry but you need to replace your Mouse and Keyboard set. Unfortunately the Keyboard is built in program has nothing to do with your computer. Ounce it becomes corrupted the only fix is to by a new set. Can not just replace the them individually. All three items need replacing Mouse Keyboard and Blue Tooth Device. My computer Keyboard did same thing.Check your warranty status all HP computers come with a one year warranty. HP replaced my because it was under one year old. They are not to expensive . I keep a cheap USB Keyboard and mouse as back up. While a new one is shipped out. frrw
