My webcam is not working in Windows Live Messenger / MSN... does anyone know why, and how I can fix it?
Basically, the webcam works fine by itself, as does the messenger, but when I try to start a video call in the messenger program the entire thing always freezes, and I have to end the program and start it up again. Its really annoying, especially as the computer is new - it should not have this error! I have set up Windows Live Messenger, so that in the Audio and Video options the webcam works, but not on a video call! Can anyone help?

Did you run "Audio and Video Setup" in Live Messenger first?

Do you have Windows Live Messenger installed on the system?
If so, try going into the Windows Live Messenger, Tools, Options, Sign In, and uncheck
[ ] Automatically run Windows Live when I log on to Windows
Post to the forum if it works after you reboot the system

Hi:
I have the built in HP webcam as well as a microsoft webcam that I use with Skype. When I call my grandson with a video (he has the microsoft webcam) he can not see me on the built in but can on the microsoft webcam. I have installed drivers on both ends, etc. but my built in will not work with him....otherwise it is fine. What am I missing?
