HP Touchsmart IQ804 Comment and Question

I bought this PC back in November so you will be able to understand my frustration. It worked good for about 4 months then I noticed it lagged a little. Finally I came home one day and started my PC and it asked for a bootable drive and windows wouldnt even load. I tried everything and still nothing worked. I contacted HP support and they said that I would need a new hard drive...Ok. So I did that and reinstalled everything Luckily I had everything backed up. So just recently (replaced hard drive in April of this year) It started it again it lagged alot only this time Windows took forever to load and I wasnt sure what to do. Yesterday I finally got into windows and ran every cleaner on it I could think of and degragged my hard drive ran a virus scan and all that fun stuff. Nothing came up. So I shut it down like I normally did and then I started my PC up to do some work on it and it came up with the same error. Today I contacted support and they suggested that since this is the same problem that something is wrong with my PC. So he suggested that I order a shipment for my PC to be shipped off to the HP service center and have them throughly check out my PC. I told him that my PC is still under warrenty and that I either wanted the hard drive replaced with full updates or a replacement of the PC so we schedule this Shipment and now I have to wait for the packaging stuff to come through 1-2 business days then after that it take 4-6 business days for them to completely repair it. I am so frustrated with this machine. My next computer is going to be an Apple.

So my question is: Is there anything I can do after this is all done to prevent this from happening again?

My HP laptop I had for about 6 months is more reliable than my Desktop and thats pretty sad. I love my laptop.
