I have a problem. Last night I used my touchsmart and it worked fine. However, I got back from an outing this morning and found that none of my icons were visible and it was moving very slow. The mouse was moving like a slideshow, alt-tab wasn't doing anything, and I couldn't get task manager or security options to start. I shut it off with the power button. Now when I try to start it up again, it hangs at the blue startup screen for a dragged out period of time, much longer than usual. After that it goes to a black screen with the text "Reboot and select proper boot devices or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."
I pressed F9 to run the diagnostic test:
"Error Code: BIOHD - 2
Warning: No Drives Detected
Suggestion: Turn off system and verify the drive cables are securely attached. If problem persists, contact HP. "
I went to change the boot device order in the BIOS and the only thing available is the DVD/RW drive. Clearly there is a problem with my hard drive. Any ideas?

Sounds like a dead hard drive, you might need to replace it or get it replaced. If you have an older model with a Seagate hard drive that needed the firmware update and it wasn't done, this is the end result of that issue.
