Hi
I’ve just purchased a touchsmart 600-1160fr. First days without problems, till a first system crash: only thing to do was to operate a manual switch-off (press power on button for few seconds). At restart, the windows page announcing an incorrect shut-down procedure, went up inviting me to run the recovery boot. After that, the complete disk check run and the final report was that all the system files had been correctly recovered.
From the next boot on, the system starts, windows logo appears, than the screen goes black and I have to wait about 5 minutes before getting the login page. Any idea or suggestion?
Thanks in advance

Not sure exactly what it would be - but I would suggest looking at the hard drive. I would suggest (once you get into Windows) running the PC Doctor diagnostics software and running the system and hard drive diagnostics there.

Hi,
Here is a link to instructions on how to run the Hardware Diagnostic.
Other than that, there are a number of things you can do to improve performance. I would start with "Deleting temporary files and directories" and "Defragment the hard disk drive"
I work for HP.
