IQ506 Screen problem

screen , white turns to pink 

color messup, so weird,

Notes: I never hit the screen, never touch hard, Never nock on the screen, never spill any water on the screen

After a night, morning, I woke up, turned on the touchsmart,IQ 506, omg scaring me

might be worth installing latest graphic driver from drivers and support for your PC, try this link it is for IQ506

I have exactly the same problem! Should I give up looking for an answer and just send it in to HP? Has anybody found a solution for this issue?

I had pretty much the same problem out of the box with an IQ504. The screen colors were distorted and pinkish and there was a shimmering effect across the whole screen. I installed the latest video drivers and that didn't help. The solution: I contacted HP tech support via IM'ing on their web site and it was determined that I needed to ship it back to HP. About one week later I received it and it's worked fine ever since. Call up HP, endure the phone support for a few minutes and they'll have you ship it back to them. They even send you a nifty box special made for the TouchSmart via DHL (In America, anyway) and a shipping sticker. (This is assuming that you are still under warranty, of course).

Try going to Control Panel, Color Management and go through the steps. It worked for me on Windows 7. I haven't tried it for Windows Vista.

This was quite frustrating to figure out. At the end it seems to be a hardware problem. What I did with my IQ506 was take it appart, concentrate on the video card and carefully clean all the contacts and I made sure to connect it correctly. After all that work, I just decided to install the OS from scratch. This was done 6 months ago and all is fine till now.

I live in South America and bought my HP in the States, so I was not worried about loosing my warranty. If you open your HP Touchsmart, I am pretty sure it will be void.

I forgot, there is a heat sink on top of the video processor. Take that appart, scrape the old thermal paste and put some new themal paste on. Reinstall the heat sink and that should do the trick!
