Is there any way to wall mount a Touchsmart IQ526? I've scrubbed the web and can't seem to find the solution. Thanks.

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

frww,

Thank you for the response.. unfortunately that link is for the IQ800 series that (from what I've heard) has different screw locations... There's got to be something around being that these machines have been on the market for some time.. I'd imagine most are probably homemade.

Thanks,

Outtawork

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

Hello Outtawork:

Why would there be a difference in HP Touchsmart 600 and 300 serries then that of yours HP Iq 526. The design stayed the same. Nothing was changed only things that changed is our software Windows 7 from Vista if you choose to you can upgrade Touchsmart software. version 4. Did you read what it says compatible with newer computers. Meaning this was orginal bracket for HP Touchsmarts flat pannel computers. Did you call HP Store or chat live with HP Sales rep. on line? Here is HP's new link for your bracket http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/search-SimpleOfferSearch?PageSize=15&search=&SearchTe...  Who knows might have to drill new holes on mounting bracket to use with your computer.HP sales rep can answer that queston for you. Just do not go by on hear say. Ask the right people that is HP. I just got gone done live chat with HP sales rep She said it will work on HP Touchsmart IQ 526 for you. No drilling needed. In reviews it says not  for HP Touchsmart 500 series those have a different type of stands that is fix and sits on a desk top. Un like ours we have a removable kick stand.  .http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Accessories/Docking-Stations-and-Stands/VK55...

You have nothing to loose you can always return it and get your money refunded if you do not like or for some unknown reason it doesn't work. Thank you.

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

I looked for how to prepare an IQ 526 for a wall-mount installation, and the closest thing I could find was instructions for an IQ800.

I was unable to find any documentation on HP's Web site about wall mounting the IQ526, but here's what I was able to find that was close, or that was suggested by the previous post.  (I'm not so sure you'll be able to do it, but here is all I could find, good luck.)

You should take a look at these documents and compare them. One document explains the adapter that is needed for the TS IQ800 and the other explains  removing and replacing the rear cover on your IQ526.

You can compare and see if the 800 and the 526 are identical.  Just a thought.

Just trying to help,

GeorgeFN

I also put a couple of TS 600 series documents too.

Best of luck, I hope this helps.

Installing a wall mount adapter for a VESA wall mount for the IQ800 series

Also, the previous poster mentioned the TS 600 series computer.  Here is a doc about removing the back cover.

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

Despite several other folks trying to be helpful, they're also wrong...

There is no wall mounting solution for the IQ5xx from HP, there was a 3rd-party that made a cradle assembly that worked, but they haven't made it in almost 2 years.

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

Thanks, Dianebrat.

That's exactly where I was headed with my answer above.  I could find no solution, so I posted the docs I had looked at and my thought that it probably (might not be) wasn't possible.

It was good information to hear that a third party solution was available in the past, but is no longer an option.  I wasn't aware of that.

Thanks for the clarification!

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

I'm coming to the "no solution" position as well.. At this point it appears something will have to be machined to:

1) Fit the current screw hole locations for the support arm on one side, and VESA compatable screw holes on the other side or -

2) bulid a mount that the IQ526 rests in that has a VESA compliant assembly on it...

Either way, this blows...

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this research.

Re: IQ526 Wall Mount

I'll just add this comment, having only select few Touchsmart models available with VESA mounting points or VESA adapters is just criminal, HP should be ashamed of not building every model, every sub-model of these units with VESA compatible mount points.

There is no excuse for this oversight in the design process, and the fact that some models have had VESA mount points shows that HP knows how to do it, they took the cheap way out, and they burned a fair amount of bridges doing it.
