Internet freezing my computer

Hi everyone, A little history. My computer starting to freeze up with in the past two weeks, where I have to manually force shut down. I can't even use explore or firefox or any of my Microsoft apps including my Anti virus. Right now,  I am in safe mode and ran my kaspersky anti virus and did not picking anything up. I used my disk cleanup and took out all the temp files that was up to 1 GB (in Safemode), and I saw more files that I have never seen before.  I am trying to go to internet explore to reset it back to defalt setting o.k. but I don't know how to do that. Right now, I am in my HP support assistant to tune up my computer, but it is just running on "Set Restore Point" I am not a computer geek, so if you are going to give me advise, please explain it like you would as a to a 10 year old (but a 10 year old are more computer savy these days).  And any other advise you can give me will be much appreciated.

          Wow serious issues. In case like this just roll back your computer using Microsoft Recovery or back restore. You did not provide us any computer information so I am unable to give exact directions on getting recovery started for you. Example of information mine is: HP Touchsmart 600-1050 Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Touchsmart software 3. Laptop is: HP DV 7-6135 Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.        I am going to give you directions on excessing Recovery Manager  Performing a Microsoft Recovery .

Click on start botton go to all programs search box [ Box under all programs]. Type in it recovery manager. Above it will display click on Recovery Manager. If white prompt  window displays click yes. Now recovery manager is open, click on Microsoft System Restore Next window click Next. Now you will see Restore system files and settings. I want you to select  Choose a different restore poin.  Click Next Choose a date that goes back at least two weeks or more. Click Next. Let it do its thing.  After restore is completed click ok restore finish window.Now your computer is some what stable. Its time for you to become an expert on your new lap-top.

       Click on start botton on the right side Help and Support . When it opens goto. Not sure where to start ? The blue writing you see are called links. Please click on any subject you choose. They will help you become the grand master on your computer on how to's. Videos and diagrams are excellent. Any thing and every thing you want to know can be found here. I tried that, and it did not work, because there was nothing to restore it too. I am wondering if I have a virus. when I am in safe mode, explore works great as does firefox. the rest of the programs work fine too including my anti virus which is karsparsky. but with I do a virus scan in safe mode no viruses come up. any thoughts? I am just tried of having my explore and firefox white out on me including everything else on my computer.
