HI All,
I recently bought a HP Touchsmart 610-1200 from the US.
I live in Australia.
I have the '@' key and the ' " ' (quotes) keys switched?
Also the ' \ ' key just below the backspace key gives me a '#'.
I have tested every key including using shift and no key gives me a backslash?
I have changed the keyboard between all the variations of Australian, English and US keyboards and none of them have changed any of this?
What am I missing?
Is there a secret to actually applying the new keyboard after you change it??
What is the name of the keyboard layout whereby;
@ - is above the 2 key (using shift)
\ - is below the backspace key
" - is on the ' key just left of the enter key (using shift)
So frustrating!!!
Thanks

Hello RobbedAgain:
Just relax your computer is under warranty for 1 year standard ok. Contact HP Dirrect Support have them send you a new keboard and mouse set. You might need to send it to freind here in State side. Then have them ship it to you in Australia. What you will be getting is a new mouse, keyboard, and a blue tooth device. All three need to be replaced to gather. You can not just replace keyboard alone. All files in all three devices are corrupted. You can however use an USB keyboard while you are waiting for new Keyboard Set. That is what I did waiting for HP to ship me a new keyboard set. It is good to have a USB keyboard as a spare back up. Because batteries do die unexpectedly you might be in the middle of doing a project and no spare batteries arround and cases like this.

Thanks Grad Student.
I was rather hoping to solve this without replacement but you could well be right.
Sensible advice on the back up usb keyboard!
Thanks.
