My Touch Smart 600 shuts down by it's self and restarts? I am running System 7 Home edition.

My computer shuts down around 16 minutes after being turned on. It shows that it shut down for no reason.

Re: My Touch Smart 600 shuts down by it's self and restarts? I am running System 7 Home edition.

Hello floydily:

Right click you mouse any where on desktop Not here on this web-page tough. A clear spot. Select personalize. Click screen saver lower right bottom. Close out window with back grounds on it. Now choose a sceen saver. These are my settings ok. I have no issues what so ever ok.

Wait:    15 minutes  Check mark [ Box ] On resume, display logon screen. If you want.

Now click on Change power Settings (Blue Writing) Next window  Click on Choose when to turn off the display. Set it up just like this. Click on black triangles to make changes.

Dim the display:                                                              10 minutes

Turn off display                                                                15 minutes

Put the computer to sleep:                                             Never

Adjust plan brightness                                                   Max far right   (you can alway dim it back down using                                                                                 brightness controls has no effects on this settings.)

Click on save changes. Close out windows.

Finished.

If it is still continues  shutting down on because of over heating. Check and clean air vents and remove any thing that maybe blocking air flow around computer. If all above fixes do not resolve your issuess father steps may be required. Please let us know. Thank you. frrw
