I did the Scroll Lock advice and it did everything like you said it would. When my mouse got to the middle, the touch screen did not work. I also tried Restoring the Defaults and the Calibration Function. None of it works. I still hear the beep when i touch the screen.

I believe it's stuck in calibration.
Try re-installing the touch screen driver from Recovery manager, and download the NextWindow multi touch driver if it's applicable to your system.
It could be as well a hardware problem, but we'll try the software re-install and upgrade first.

I have the same problem, but i dont get a beep and my cursor does not move is there a part number for the sensor i purchased this touchsmart from a refurbished place i think the sensor got banged up in shipping.

About a 30 - 60 days ago my touch screen quit working have tried restoring from system restore and it did not fix it. Was there a update that took out touch screens?

this is BS....HP where is your "customer support"? this is the second time my touch screen functions have quit working since I bought this system - and both times I have recieved NO help from HP....the only reason my screen started working again,last time, was because my comp crashed and I had to reinstall windows...i'm NOT going to reinstall windows everytime my screen functions mess up

worked for me perfectly well, thanks a lot, have been havinng the problem for a while and didn't know what t do, now its fixed all thanks to you, as for Hp after sales worst so ever.

My touchscreen was not working so I did everything everyone suggested and still nothing. So I went ahead and did a System recovery not a system restore..and now it does not work at all. I keep getting a message saying Windows did not install properly please restart and install again. Now I have no effin idea what to do...please someone out there help me...I tried calling hp support but my warranty is up and I don't have the 109.00 dollars to pay for a year's worth of phone support.....PLEASE HELP
