New Touchsmart 520-1030 Remote issue

Got this computer 3 days ago and all is well except that the Remote Control will not work. The red light on the remote works when I press any button but the computer and usb sensor show no response at all.
The mouse and keyboard make the usb sensor light go blue and the wire with the red end plugged into the IR socket does nothing.
Any ideas please?

Just contact HP Direct Support on line. Your computer has a one year warranty so use it while you can. They will help you trouble shoot it no problem. My computer HP Touchsmart 600-1050 had missing software and a bad DVD/CD disk drive and a bad Keyboard and mouse set when I first got it. This is the time to check and get the bugs fix while under warranty. Probably the drivers or software are not installed. They will fix it for you.
