Touch Screen Touchscreen won't respond

I am having the same problem.  When I first turn the computer on, I can touch my userid picture and use the on-screen keyboard to type in my password (if I want) and immediately after logging in, the touchscreen will respond, but I am thinking that there is something loading which is disabling the touchscreen, because right after that, it's unresponsive.  It still makes the little beep when I touch the screen, just as it used to, and it *IS* enabled.  I can successfully calibrate the screen (it recognizes my finger presses while calibrating) but after that, it does not respond to my touch.  When I start the computer up in safe mode, the touch screen responds as it should.  Again, I believe something is loading which is disabling the touch screen, but I have no idea how to go about figuring out what it might be.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will help but if you think it is somehting which is loading up causing the problem you can run msconfig and check the "Selective startup" option and uncheck the "Load startup items".  You need to reboot and see how you go...

You can also check out what is loaded in the Startup tab and individually uncheck what you don't want loading at startup...   Hopefully you 'll find what it is if it is indeed the startup...
