Remove Norton

I will not activate Norton.  How do I get rid of it and the reminders. HP touchsmart 420-1100, Windows 7 64bit

There are two ways to get rid of it:

1)  If you've activated the free trial version, or if it WAS activated when you set up the computer, the best way to get rid of the reminders and Norton, itself, is to download and run the Norton Antivirus Removal Tool.  You can find it by doing a google search for --

2)  If it has not been activated, then you can simply uninstall Norton using Windows 7 "remove programs."

Click on the Start Button

Click on Control Panel

Click on Programs -- Uninstall a Program

Thanks.  The removal tool seems to have worked (I may need a day or two to be sure there are no surprises).  The tool did not remove the Norton Online Backup, but W7 uninstall did.  Thanks again.
