Request help with TouchSmart 300-1025. PC wont Power On.

I have a TouchSmart 300-1025 which suddenly stopped working. It will not power on. There is no LED light, and I have verified the Powercord is ok by checking it on another computer. I have also verified the Electrical outlet is working with other devices. I have tried to remove the cord and press the Power button for 5 continuous seconds then plug in again. Still no power, no nothing. Is there anything else I can try to get it working? Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

Re: Request help with TouchSmart 300-1025. PC wont Power On.

I just had this problem, I called tech support. They suggested (and it worked) disconnecting the power cable, then hold in the power button on the TouchSmart, for at least 30 seconds. Then plug in the power cord, and push in the power button, it should boot up. I've had to do this about 4 times the past 24 hrs. The last time I held the button in for about 2 minutes. So far it's been working for over 15 minutes with out shutting down again.

The alternative is to call tech support, have them send a box, and mail the unit back to them for repair. They estimate 2-3 weeks.

They said the problem is caused by static build up (simular to the old tv's, when you loose color). Though my unit is on a wood desk, on a wood floor, I don't know where the static would be coming from. This appears to be problem with all in one pc's.

Re: Request help with TouchSmart 300-1025. PC wont Power On.

I have a similar issue on a Touchsmart 2-1030.   Sometimes we have to push the power button for much more than 2 minutes.   On the 2nd call to tech support they had me take the back cover off, remove the RAM & hard drive.  That did not fix the issue, but we discovered that the fan was turning on when the power button was depressed, even thought the computer did not turn on.   It took 2 more 30 minute calls to get a box arranged for shipping to repair it.   Every call to tech support was more than 20 minutes, and they started from scratch, even though I had a case number.
