TouchSmart 300-1020 Webcam randomly stopped working [ Edited ]

I hoped on Skype today, downloaded the update, and now my webcam doesn't work. I tried many things suggested online and found that it doesn't show up in the Device Manager. 

Any advice?

I must have a hardware issue then because I tried opening the Device Manager already and I don't even have the option of clicking on Imaging Devices. I selected something else and scanned for hardware changes, but nothing changed. Apparently, my Recovery Manager also does not want to open which is preventing me from doing the software program re-installation route. Maybe it's time for a new computer

At this point, I have spent 3 hours trying to solve this issue and look for a driver download.

As i see you have few more steps you could try.

1) Go to HP website put in your product number and check if you can download the Web Cam software.

2) Try doing a system restore to the date where your unit was working fine.

For some reason, there is no Webcam driver downloads, unless I am blind. 

Will I lose any of my computer info if I do a system restore?
