Re: TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

Hello Dsnow:

Yes it is needed and if look behind your Touch Smart at the bottom you will see its usb port where it goes. It may be located there all ready just remove tape and push it in. It is very small and might be still in the packageing. Contact HP Direct Support if you do not have it. They will send you a new one takes up to three days because they will Federal Expres it. Your computer came with one warranty and that is covered.

Re: TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

I couldn't locate a USB receiver so I tried turning the keyboard on - the keyboard started working. I tried the same with the mouse and it started working. I've asked HP CustomerCare for clarification.

What more clarification do you need? you missed it and it works. :smileywink:

It's not an obvious receiver, they usually hide it pretty well in the back.

Re: TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

In other words it's hidden well on the back as I said...

It's been the same since the IQ5xx/IQ8xx series.

Re: TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

Hello HEAVENLYGR4220:
Welcome to HP's forum. To answer your question. You need to purchase a complete set. They work as a set USB Blue Tooth, Mouse and Keyboard can not mix and match. HP preprograms them to work as a set. Check your warranty status HP will send a you a new keyboard and mouse set if your computer is under warranty still One year. If not under warranty go HP's parts store and order the set. In the mean time you can purchase a real cheap USB mouse or keyboard as spare until your replacement arrives. HP's Mouse and Keyboard sets are not that expensive. frrw
