TouchSmart IQ524 + XP = 1 week

[ Edited ]
I do not like Vista. For speed, compatibility and full of holes. Therefore, I decided to put XP (personal record - set at IBM Cx-233 / 32 MB / 400 MB).
But the drivers, HP does not indulge - Vista only.

To install the needed XP CD-bootable with SP3 + integrated nForce 4x driver's (or any other XP + USB-floopy drive with diskette driver's + change in BIOS SATA mode from ACHI to IDE)
What is not established immediately:
eHome infrared Receiver
SoundMax AD1994B
Bluetooth
ATK1000

Initially, there was an attempt to put Windows XP MCE 2002/2005, but this was the gift of time spent - half found ISO-images was unworkable. That established, do not take an update for MCE, and also initially did not see more than half of system devices (including network cards, video)

Also, originally not worked TouchScreen.
Drivers had to find and expose manually, you also can download them here, substituting the device ID
http://devid.info/

Drivers for sound and "eHome infrared" put your hands. Latest - from MCE.

To the touch screen on the floor earned under Windows XP you need:
  - Download tabletpc.cab (see references above from betepon)
  - Unpack into% WINDIR% \ System32
  - To Startup (eg HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run) to add the file wisptis.exe.
The touch screen will work. I can not run sensor applications create notes - handed out the conflict of 2 libraries from Vista folder Programm files / Common files / Microsoft shared /.... - Just drop them in a folder with Vista.

Virtual keyboard - or Win + U and set the standard (smaller keys) lio looking on the side (I liked here is Comfort On-Screen Keyboard)

Not implemented:
- Control knob on the dynamics of the panel itself (apparently, some kind of programm)
- Management of built-in microphone (if issue)

How to make simultaneous downloads and XP and Vista Much has been written.
Do a search "XP after Vista" - get a lot of answers on Google, so even with the pictures.
