Now you have a working screen try out this little bit of software.
Look in the Screenclean folder at http://hiddenvision.co.uk/tools
cleantime2.zip has the latest bits.
You may guess what it does from the title.
Not even HP have thought about cleaning the screen with the PC turned on.!
Try it without the software !!!
or best to try it in your mind first and imagine the results.
It's safe, I wrote it so I know exactly what it does.
Disables ALL inputs,
Blanks the screen,
Counts down from 10 to 0,
Re-enables ALL inputs.
Exits
Thats it, ?
If it cannot disable the inputs then
it sets the focus to the blank backgound so that any keyboard or mouse/touch actions are ignored.
Ohh it plays a sound at the start and beeps close to the end.
Ahh just run it....
it is very obvious and tells you what to do along the way.
There is no installer
just open the zip and copy the contents to a new folder of any name
Hv.
I never knew who HP were until my workshop got filled with faulty equipment. !! I know who Apple are now too.

Sorry, the 1 bit case is after I removed the Video card. Just notice my model is 790 instead of 775. Not sure if 790 has on board graphic card. The main board do have 2 VGA connector.

Hi Chanseng,
As I have never personally seen the iQ790 I am unable to give you any detailed information.
Although I thought all the 700 series used a very simular setup.
Some with a card and some without depending on spec but all with ONBOARD GPU.
If you have the lid off then the onboard GPU is easy to see.
It is located towards the middle of the machine with it's own small heatsink.
Best to post a new message thread asking if the 790 has onboard graphics and
hopefully one of the people that 'knows for sure' will be able to advise.
At a guess, if the motherboard does not have onboard graphics then
that may explain the single beep once the card is removed.
The machines I have been repairing 770, 771, 775 and one or two other numbers I forget
would all power on with the card removed, even if the screen cable was totally unplugged.
Assuming that they would do so if the cable was connected that is.
It maybe that the Onboard GPU has failed,
this can make you think that the 7600 card has failed.
So you may have a perfectly working Graphics card and yet the onboard unit is at fault.
I have personally seen that twice.
I hope this helps..?

@Hidden Vision, Yes DOCTOR. The patient is out of Comma, normal breathing and perfect heart beat!
You saved two lives here. My PC and myself. Are you part of 'Doctors Without Borders' organization?
Thanks for sharing some great tips here. No rubish at all. I pay very close attention to every single, interesting detail you have listed in your post. Looks like you have made me addicted to explore Touchsmart IQ 775. I loved this machine and four years ago, when I bought it (paid almost US$1800), I made a pledge to myself that I am not buying any desktop, till there is zero hope left to work on/upgrade this one.
I cleaned the fan/cooling block. You are right. It was covered with dust blanket. As you suggested, I have been checking on ebay as well. No luck so far with the Nvidia GF7600. I also saw a IQ775 which some one is selling for US$ 600+, but I think now, in that amount I can fully upgrade the one I have, even if I have to change the mother board, processor and have compatible graphics card. (By the way, I am in California, US).
What I learned during my search for the graphics card is that the latest cards require a system that runs on 300-500 watt power supply as well as compatible motherboard. For touchsmart I think it is 250 Watt or so. Therefore, my understanding is that I dont have many options for the card and I have to either buy the same, or replace the entire system (Power Supply, Mother Board, RAM etc). I know it is better to buy a built system, but I am taking this as an opportunity to learn and see how far I can go with upgrades. Maybe I cant give up on this PC because it was like 'love at first sight' feeling. Anyway, I will start a separate thread on upgrading to collect some feedback.
Thanks again for being very humble to appreciate my desire to learn.

Hey Ricky,
Many thanks for the comments,
they help me to remember that some humans are nice people.
It is also great that you have left positive feedback on the process as
other people will now think it is possible. and not scrap their machine.
I think to be honest the TS700 range is about the best it can be.
A memory upgrade to 4Gig may help but only if you use heavy applications.
You would be better to look for either the 600 series or ANOTHER BRAND.!
Sony have a nice range and I know someone that has
three of the 23 or 24 inch touch screen PC's for the company,
and he is very happy with no failure's although
I have noticed that one of the BR/DVD players is showing early signs of alzheimer's.
Hey I am not against HP at all, my TS600 has been working perfect since I purchased it for £100 off eBay.!
Crazy people,, that only had a small sewing needle stuck in the fan and
as such the machine would power on and then power off.
I spent £20 on a 10amp power supply and the machine is perfect.
That came from a repair center !!!
There is many bargains in the UK eBay so it is best to have a search for such things
although shipping to USA may cost a little.
If you or anyone ever needs shipping to USA from the UK
I know a company that will be very cheep for slower delivery.
I would even offer to have things delivered to me,
I can test and then if worthwhile, have them shipped.
This can be a very exciting prospect if you purchase a few as
the bulk shipping will be so much cheaper than just one at a time.
Ricky, if you want I can send you the 5 cards I have,
you use one, test the others and if people local to you want one you can sell them a tested card.
Then if there is profit we can talk about how you can help me one day.
Obviously I do not want to be out of pocket so you would pay for the post cost but
the cards for me are taking space and I do not have a machine to test.
Crazy idea ?? I see the doctor on tuesday !!

Hey Ricky,
I have tried to use the private message function and it appears
that the HP forum is having some breathing trouble.!@
So if this works at least the message will get to you.
I posted those cards.
I found 6 in total, like I say 2 100% are working but perhaps 1 or more maybe.
I have sent them in several wrappers, two in one,
three in another and a single unit. All in static bags, but all in the same package.
I sent them as I found them so
perhaps the two items are the working ones and
the three together are the broken units.
Who knows what the single unit was all about but it could also be good.
ok i notice i said three working originaly, I missed the appointment .!
Postage was only 1/3 of the estimate price so we do not have to worrie about that just yet.
Wait till you get them and try them and then we can see what happens.
I still take my hat off to you for taking this process to the end and resulting in a workable machine.
This is why you get the special prize and my added assistance.
I hope it will encourage others to take the chance and save their machine from the reaper.
Although I have no more special prizes to hand out, just words of encouragement.
Best of luck and let me know once you have a FULLY specked machine again.
Although as I am sure you know it works very well without the card anyway.
