Touchpad to Mother board Cable.

Hello All,

I am trying to locate the product number for a replacement ribbon cable that connects the touchpad on my TM2 to the main motherboard. My current one is damaged and the touchpad is no longer working. The current ribbon is about five inches long and has six copper cores.

Does anybody know how i can find the product number or where i can buy a replacement from?

My system is a Touchsmart TM2t 1100.

Your tm2t-1100 CTO should have a product number like VL614AV. Please locate that number and enter it into the "Quick Search:" field in the HP PartSurfer webpage that the previous link takes you to. It is possible that the product number on your computer may followed by a dash (-) and three more letters. These can be ignored. If you are still having issues, please post the product number here for more assistance.

I've looked at the partsurfer and the only thing i could locate was

  613451-001 SPS-CABLE KIT TM2 2.0

I can't locate what is exactly included in the kit so it might not have my ribbon cable.

My Tablet PC product number is WU662AV.

Any Ideas?

Looking at page 17 (27 of 113), Item 3 of the Maintenance and Service Guide for your tm2 shows the following;

Item (3) - Top cover (includes TouchPad and TouchPad cable, caps lock light board and cable, and top cover bumper pads) - Spare part number 592964-001

I had previously looked at that part but as it is around 50GBP it seems a bit much for just a 5 inch ribbon cable.

Thank you for the effort but i'll keep using a usb mouse until i find the ribbon cable by itself.

Dear designmike289,

This generic 6-pin ribbon cable from eBay should fit, currently sells for $12.99 / 2pcs.  It is somewhat longer than the original cable, but otherwise is a functionally equivalent replacement, and is the same cable I used to repair my TM2t-2200's touchpad.  The seller is international, so it may take a while to arrive.

hi .. i have a dv 9620.  I now need that ribbon cable from touchpad to board, its for sure the cable, tested it on other panels. If anyone has any advice or has one i have a bunch of DV 6000 and up internal parts. swap? thx

Fixed! EBAY ahd it all for under 8.00..
