Touchsmart 300 Wall Adapter

Has anyone had experience of wallmounting a Touchsmart 300? I would like to do this, but HP Support are refusing to let me have a Wall plate adapter assembly kit here in the UK. I'm presuming the adapter is necessary to connect the computer to the wall mounting. Any comments appreciated.

Since the Touchsmart 300 and 600 models don't have an industry standard VESA mounting points, the adapter is required to attach the PC to standard wall mounts.

The US and UK are very different in the ways they make things available, the key is that the part you're looking for is listed as  VK554AA in the US, but may have a different part number in the UK, the UK also includes the wall mount in one of the 600 models, so the part # might show up in the parts list for that model. The 300 and 600 do use the same assembly.

it's a bit vague but on one occasion they seemed to be saying the part does not exist, on another that the part cannot be purchased. I wonder if it is a case of HP UK customer services not having the whole picture. I also see that the part is not listed under UK shopping on the HP site and that the USA site says, if you try to buy it, that the part cannot be sold outside the USA.

It's all a bit strange as it is a rather fundamental accessory.

Well, I have a sort of an answer to the question of obtaining the wall adapter in the UK. While HP refuse to supply the part despite it being their own, a parts supplier has quoted to supply it, but at  82 UKP it's around 4x the list price. No thanks. It would be so much nicer if HP would actually supply the accessories they promote.

On their website HP assert that they make it easy to obtain the parts you want. I don't think so.

What I really want is a source that will supply the part at a sensible price. How about it HP?
