I have a Touchsmart IQ500 Series PC, with WIN Vista Home Premium and ie 8
When hp total care advisor pops up with updates I click to update, but it just sits there frozen. Also PC help and Advisor not responding to let me update critical update, and is giving me red error box when I click run that reads: error occured while handling message. Thank you for any help.

I forgot to ask if you have 64 or 32 bit. Software and Driver Downloads follow this link. Just choose the version and under the section labled Utility - Tools download the HP Advisor Application Update. There are some other helpful updates there as well i'm sure. Let me know how it goes.

Right click computer, select properties and under the section that says system then next to the system type it says what bit the operating system is. That is the value you need to choose from the dropdown in the link i shared with you.
