Hi,
I'm afraid not. I've been connecting wirelessly, which has been trouble free and, I have to say, no disadvantage at all.
Here is the interesting thing though: I upgraded my Touchsmart to Windows 7, using a CLEAN install and all the latest drivers from HP's website. Lo and behold, exactly the same problem recurred. The wireless connection will stay on indefinitely or until some other problem arises, a wired connection drops after an hour or so. The router also has the latest version of the software.
Unless you find a solution elsewhere I can only suggest you stick with wireless if that works for you in your circumstances.
NB I haven't looked at this forum for ages but I assume from your post that no solution has been reported here.

It's been a while! Any solutions to this problem yet? I have been dealing with it for a couple of years now.
I was thinking of upgrading from Vista to 7 but since I see that didn't fix the problem I wont invest a penny into upgrading. I have a touchsmart laptop that has problems also, i think i'm done with HP!

Nothing new to report, I'm afraid.
