I have an HP Touchsmart IQ815. When the computer goes into sleep mode, often it will not come back. Screen, mouse, keyboard, and remote all unresponsive. The screensaver is not up and the entire system is unresponsive.
Tonight while watching LiveTV through Media Center with the viewing window sized to about half the screen (not in full screen mode) the video and audio froze and the entire unit froze up again with all input devices non-functional. Had to restart using the power button.
Any advice on this?
Thanks
Brian

This sounds like a resource issue....from what I've read in these forums, the touchsmart software seems to take a lot of resources. So if you aren't using the touch features at the moment, as is the case when you watch TV in Media Center, turn off the touch software and you'll see a major improvement in the performance. Here's how: Tap Personalize , TouchSmart Settings , deselect Quick Launch , tap OK , and then Close.
Here are some other steps for increasing your PC's performance:

I agree with bill - sounds like a resource issue, if what bill recommends doesn't help; one other way to go about this is to identify the problematic process by loading up perfmon and monitor your system for leaks, look for leaks in process private bytes, locks, thread count, available system memory, etc and keep a log file running until the system again hangs - go back through the log file and see which processes is leaking, you should see a gradually creeping line of a resource growing bigger... I would put a small bet on this issue either being related to your antivirus software or what some people here have reported before is itunes...
