Update your TouchSmart 300 or 600 software to version 4!!!

I am having a problem with my touchsmart screen yesterday the touchsmart was working fine but today for some reason when you put it on touchsmart and touch the screen it is not working. could i have disabled the program somehow? and can it be restored? can you direct me and help me to fix this problem i really don't want to saend this computer back

I have a touchsmart 600 1160, i have updated to 4.0 with no error reports.

However i have no access to the app centre. The button directs me to a hp product page rather than apps. How is this fixed?

I, too, was interested, but when I saw how time consuming, and possibly confusing an upgrade would be, I just let it slide.

i tried to install all the upgrade from 300 to V.4 but i think i missed something because when i check my webcam i only saw 1 effect only the distortions... 

how can i get the automatic upgrade without using the manual upgrade to V.4? ang can i still restore my old version?

Not all models are supported with the automatic upgrade, many will require a manual update. You can ALWAYS restore your system to original configurations if you have made your Recovery DVDs.

You can NOT however just uninstall the new Touchsmart software and reinstall the old easily

I have an older Touchsmart IQ518d, is it possible to upgrade this to the version 4.0 Touchsmart software?  I'm hoping so as the version 3 is pitiful.

The IQ5xx and IQ8xx models are not supported in the official upgrade process.

sorry for late reply..but no u can not update ur IQ 518 to Touchsmart 4.0...it will not support

After many failed attempts with error 9986, two chat sessions with HP Support with no resolution, I decided to try brute force. I unzipped all the packages, navigated to the SRC folder as indicated above, and used a SETUP.EXE or .MSI to install. Most seemed install OK; I received no errors, but installing this way did not always provide a "Installation Complete" indication. Just for grins, I tried to run the downloaded executables afterwards. I started with the TouchSmart 4 application. Lo and behold, no errors! Somewhere along the way during the brute force install, the stars must have aligned. Maybe it's a .NET issue?

Incidentally, before I started the brute force instalI, downloaded and ran an MS app to totoally remove .NET 4 and its client, then ran the update enabler package with no problem.

I have a 600-1155, i720QM, 6G memory.
