I have an HP system how 520-1070, windows 7 64-bit desktop. How can I use Skype without having to use a headset. I am now using a headset use Skype but I find it cumbersome. My desktop has a great camera and a great speaker systems - how can I use these two devices to enhance my skype experience (i.e. not using a headset).

Hi,
Your Desktop has inbuilt microphone and you can use them instead of the headphone. If it is not enabled then you can go to Beats Audio Software from all programs and the Click Recording Tab at the top. Select Integrated Microphone A on the left side and then adjust the settings.
You can follow the link below for the exact steps:
Adjust Beats Integrated Microphone A
Or,
Try this Alternate Step
Click on the Start Button and in the Start Search box type in Microphone and Click Set up a Microphone.
You can also click on Manage audio devices and then recording tab to enable the microphone.
Let me know if it still doesnt work.

I was successful in reloading the Beats Audio software app. Although the Beats Audio screens did not look exactly as depicted in your reply I configured the settings as per your instructions.
After the reload I tested the speakers and they do work as I sound tested them and I heard the sound I expected. The internal microphone does work as it picked up my speech pattern.
I logged into Skype and did the echo/sound test. The test failed as I did not hear the instructions to speak nor the instructions to have my voice levels tested. Note that while using a headset I was able to hear the instructions to speak and after speaking I was able to hear what I had said.
Therefore my objective to use Skype wihout a heatset is still not fulfilled.

Hi,
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling Skype? If not try that because the integrated MIC and speakers seems to be working fine for everything else except skype..So Reinstalling should fix it.
