built-in webcam not recognised in device manager

Why won`t the built-in webcam on my touchsmart 300-1115uk desktop work.It has not been recognised by device manager.I am using windows7.

You might not see it in Device Manager... if you do not see it in the TouchSmart software - restart... still no joy, reinstall using HP App recovery - Start -> All P{rograms -> PC Help and Tools -> Recovery Manager -> Advanced Options -> Reinstall software... -> HP TouchSmart Webcam.
