cd/dvd error 39

I have a brand new HP 310-1125Y all in one TouchSmart PC. Placed a CD in player and nothing happens after loading. I went to device manager and it shows that the CD drive has driver error 39. I did an update search and system says all drivers are updated. Followed directions in the trouble shooting section with no change. Even after rebooting still error message. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Was trying to read a CD that has documents written with MS Excel 2003 from my previous computer.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
