Did you install iTunes or some other software with DVD burning capability before this happened? Have you ever been able to burn DVD's? Do you get any errors?
This HP support document should help you findout/fix what is wrong (particularly the clearling registry filters section):

i have a 515 and it kept failing on the verify of the restore dvd's
these were gold maxell +R
i tried some silver TDK +R and it worked for all 3 dvd's with no errors.
dont ask me why, i did have a laptop once that just didnt like gold disks
thats why i tried it
