I have a touchscreen all in one and the wireless keyboard goes thru batteries once a week. First my mouse quit working so i replaced it with another wireless mouse(logitech) and it work fine now. But for 6 months my batteries go dead about once a week and I have to put new ones in. I use good batteries, i have tried them all and they all go dead. I also put the computer on sleep everynight. My business partner has the same computer and he puts them in about every 3 months or so.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Welcome to HP forum. Well isn't this a pickle. I use rechargeable batteries both Energizer and Duracell rechargeable batteries. Your Mouse has a switch on/off. least the Hp mouse does . You can turn off the mouse when you are not using it. Now for your keyboard you just remove the batteries from that when are not using it. My rechargeable batteries last up to six months before I need to recharge them again. Yes they do cost more but to buy new batteries every other week or so cost even more. I use the On Screen Keyboard and mouse more then keyboard. I also have the keyboard right next to the computer as well. Batteries last only how you use them. If you are typing all the time with the keyboard you will burn them out faster. You know you can use speech recognition and do a way with the keyboard altogether as well. This program is located in accessories ease of access. Or you can buy Dragon Speaking software witch has software that blocks out other noise and only dictates what you say. Blocks out what others are saying in the background. Please click on Kudos if this has resolved your issue. Thank you frrw.

Thank you for the input. However, I have tried all the batteries, even the rechargeable ones. I do use my keyboard a fair amount. But my business partner sits right next to me and has the same computer and it has the same batteries and he rarely ever replaces them, about every 6 months. For the first year mine worked really well then for some reason it drains the batteries. And I am not the type to take batteries out, I just replace them at least once a week.
Has any one else had this problem?

I have got the exact same problem using a HP Touchsmart 600 PC. My wireless keyboard drains all the types of batteries I use. Last month I bought some rechargeable batteries. At least I do not have to buy new batteries every week. There must be some kind of reason for this "battery draining" issue. Maybe it's a driver thing or the fact that the keyboard is continuously trying to connect to the PC even tough it's not being used. Looking forward hearing some good feedback.

Refenence to both biggerpt and rk713a:
Hello again rk713a and welcome to HP forum biggert. I would like you both take agood look at your keyboard keys or any slightly signs of the keyboard being bent. Because you both have a continuities signal going from your keyboard to computer. That moon button sometimes fetches up under the plastic. If everything looks ok all buttons and keys are above plastic. For this next step I recommend that you have a spare usb keyboard near by as back up. This is very handy any way to have you can very easyly plug it. Saves time from delaying projects that you are working on. When your keyboard crashes such in this case. Their are two reasons left to figure out witch two are corrupt keyboard itself we can not test that or replace built in software. Either it works or it doesn't .
This one we can how ever. Please both of you go to all program's search box and type in recovery manger . Open it . ( If you have C. Drive locked by a bit locker un lock it now.) Now select Hardware Driver Reinstallation click next now go down the list and select HP DesktopKeyboard click next . Check mark yes to all if promted to over write files. Follow wizards commands. Now we know for sure if it's the keyboard that needs replacing or not. The problem still persit then you know the Keyboard itself is corrupted and needs replacing. Check your one year warranty status.
If under warranty contact HP Direct Support .To cut down your time with just them done that did that two. Argue with them until they write up your work order for replacing mouse and keyboard set. Out of warranty please go to HP parts store or HP store and order one there. Shipping is fairly fast.
All HP Direct Support will tell you to do is reinstall it over over again. Then give you a link for download witch is the same thing your computer has already have do that several times over and over.
Like I said either keyboard works or it does not. frrw

Thank you very much for your help. I tried all the changes and nothing works and all my keyboard buttons are good. I will assume at this point it is the keyboard.
I really appreciate your time and effort.
David
