where to get mini-vga cable?

I am trying to help my mother in law who has an HP Touchsmart IQ770. The screen goes in and out and we are just trying to get it hooked up to another monitor. She did not have the original cable for the mini-vga so we purchased one from HP but the mini-vga plus is too big. I cannot find a nother one and do not want to spend another $50 to find out it does not work. 

Anyone know where to get one?

          Seeing that there are so many different types and brands on the market what I would in your case is bring your computer to a store like Bestbuy or Stapples or Officedepot where they service and cary a wide range of computer accessories and asked technician to help you find the right cable. Ounce they have found you one. Just write down the brand name and it's model information. Then just type it in your Internet Explorer browser and do a quick search. I typed it in and there is one on e-bay for $49.28. Others are listed as well but not knowing the right size doesn't  help us.  Good luck.

Here are the specs for the HP TouchSmart IQ770 computer and its A8SN-CF (Phoenix) motherboard. Here is a parts list for the IQ770 from HP's Part Surfer. None of this may help you directly, but it may provide extra information you need. Also, take a photo of the mini D-SUB on rear of the IQ770 and share it with us. This may help us track a part down for you.
