wireless lan card driver not working

I just installed my new HP touchsmart IQ527kr and have only one problem;

Windows is not recognizing the wireless lan adapter;

802.11n Wireless Lan Card

Error message:

windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware, the driver might be corrupt or missing.

I recieved a driver disk from the shop, but after installing that driver the same problem shows...

Hope you can help.

Re: wireless lan card driver not working

You mention "just installed..." does this mean you installed a different operating system??? Or do you mean you were simply setting it up, new, from the box and Windows Vista does not recognise the wireless adapter right out of a new setup experience?

If you changed to XP, I have seen this many times before and I'm not sure you'll find a solution.

If you are having this problem right out of the box, the software should already be on the software build and drivers are not needed. heck, you can even go into the advanced features of recovery manager (Start, All programs, PC Help & Tools, Recovery Manager) and restore the wireless driver. It may be that a wire or something is disconnected. It should work straight out of the box.

Re: wireless lan card driver not working

I had to install a new vista, as this one only came with a korean version. (I bought the touchsmart in Korea)

I got the working drivers through HP chat (thanks!)

Now I'm looking for english recovery discs or the engllish HP touchsmart software.

Re: wireless lan card driver not working

Ok I have the answer to the touch smart and the wireless card not working........  I have been playing with this problem for a long time.  after many reinstalls of the full operating system I figured it out......

Its has a conflict with the "HP Advisor"  just uninstall the HP Advisor and it show back up the the device manager.  This killed me because it kept think the the hp advisor was a good thing but after I installed my operating system and it did not show up right away and then it did.  I would disable it when taking windows updates and it kept working if I did disable it first.  So I had all of the updates and it was still working and worked for about a week and then the HP advisor pops up asking for an update and I said sure???????  That's when I touch smart froze and when It came back up the wireless card was gone!  So that's how I made the connection between the HP Touch Smart and the HP ADVISOR was the problem........  ever since I have uninstalled the hp advisor it works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your welcome and good luck to you
