That driver worked fine for me. I saw that Windows update tried to install a different driver which does give problems. Did you try and re-install the SP 44488 package ?
I read that Nvidia is working on a better driver for our card.
What was I thinking when I bought an HP ?

Try Windows Update (opt in on recommended / optional drivers)
To check for Aero, go to Control Panel System Performance and Maintenance and run the assessment. Once it completes, go to Display Properties and choose an Aero Theme.

I checked everyuthing before I made the posting. I've been a PC user since 1981 and have had many years of experience, but this one baffles me. This is the message I get when I try to trouble-shoot the Aero experience: "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."
It appears that the driver I have installed from HP isn't compatable with Win 7's Aero feature. When will one be made available?

1. install winrar.
2. then download the hp iq506 Vista x64 bit version of the update driver to your local hard drive...
3. then using windows file explorer, right click on the driver exe and select "Extract to sp35723\"
4. Move into the sp35723\src directory and run setup.exe from there.
5. A reboot will be required.
This is the only driver for the iq508a that works fine for me. What I suggest as I have done, is to feed back to HP that the Win 7 driver doesn't work..

Jim, you're very persistent. I guess I got a little impatient, that's the one "trick" I hadn't tried. IT WORKED!
