CP2025dn will not print adobe pdf documents

Suddenly my CP2025dn stopped printing pdf documents. It will print emails, word and excel and web screens but not pdf's. They are not even in the spooler.  I tried a system restore and that didn't work. I then connected my XP computer to a CM1312nfi printer and could print pdf's there, so I thought the problem was in the driver. I could not find the driver that came with the printer. I struggled trying to install from the HP website the driver v2.0 dated May 26 2009. Every time the download asked me to connect the usb cable it wouldn't acknowledge that the printer was connected, or it would start to finish the install then stop in the middle and crash. So I tried the universal driver v5.2.5.9108 and It didn't resolve the problem. Still can't print pdf's. Also tried driver v61.72.51.2 and no change. I even updated the firmware of the CP2025dn. So right now I can't print pdf's, lost the HP Toolbox, and cannot check my ink cartridge levels because the several attempts to fix this have erased everything the original disc installed. Today HP you are not impressing me. Is there a solution?
