Google chrome and web smart printing

So apparently google chrome is not supported by HP and therfore the web smart printing does not work when I am using Chrome.

Is there anyway I can make it work for Chrome or let HP know that their customer(s) would like their software to be supported by google chrome?

Thank you!

Re: Google chrome and web smart printing

Well now Chrome is the second worst browser on the market.

Only outdone by IE as the worst.

Chrome should be closed and removed it contains legally Spyware, Malware and adaware which you accept under install so i do understand why HP will not support any Google prodcut installed on your PC as they all contrains sniffers to send information to Google so they can follow your actions on the WEB and send it on to third partiese for better ads where you go that follows who you are.

Plus Chrome is not very secure heck IE is more secure than chrome.

Re: Google chrome and web smart printing

There's a website called Print What You Like (http://www.printwhatyoulike.com/) that does a lot of the same stuff: You can pick what pieces of a web page you want to keep (called isolate) or remove. You can increase or decrease font size, choose to include or exclude images, etc.

You can use it by going to their website, or by adding their bookmarklet to your bookmark bar. I have used it with Chrome and Firefox, and it works great. It actually makes a lot more sense to have it as a website rather than a browser plugin, because you can use it from any browser on any computer.

It also has some nice other features, like you can save the reformatted page as a PDF.

I'm sorry, what?

It's totally fine to believe Chrome is only better than IE - but you're saying Chrome contains spy/mal/adware? There's a few issues with this...

  1. You did not cite your source or provide evidence. This is all-important when making an argument - why should I believe this?
  2. Chrome is open-source software. If you do not want anything in it, go to http://code.google.com/chromium/, change the code as you wish (or just remove some parts), and build it yourself. It's not hard, and there are tons of tutorials on how to do it.
  3. You can disable all "sniffers" with the IBA opt-out extension (http://bit.ly/h4PDqQ).
  4. If you read Google's privacy policy, you can easily see that they do not sell information to third parties. Third parties may, however, take advantage of cookies that your browser sets. You can disable these as well.
  5. If you are concerned about security, just download some anti-virus software and enable your firewall. If a virus can get past an anti-virus program, chances are very high it can also get past any browser.
  6. Chrome is more secure than Internet explorer because it uses separate processes for each tab, plugin, and extension. The processes, by default, cannot communicate with each other. They can only communicate if the user enables them to.
  7. Finally, software has bugs - if you define a "secure" system as a system that hasn't ever let a virus through, there's going to be hardly anything. Even very popular systems like Adobe's Flash and Apple's PDF reader can be take advantage of from time to time (see: constant Flash security updates; jailbreakme.com).
So, if you have a rebuttal to any of these points, I'd be glad to hear it - as long as you show me your source.

Re: Google chrome and web smart printing

They apparently replace this with a new program called HP Smart Printing.
